Your prep team was great. They were friendly, professional and informative and made sure I was comfortable. The nurse anesthesiologist was also friendly, informative and professional. Once in the procedure room, the staff informed me what was to happen, you introduced your self and then I was put under. I woke up in the post-procedure that I was prep'd in and was asked how I was doing, I was provided with a drink of choice and my wife was called in. The whole experience was professional and efficient. The best I could hope for.

Upper & (especially) Lower GI diagnosis and treatment can be quite… well… invasive and humbling. After all, it’s not something people like to talk about. But as Elmo from Sesame Street famously proclaimed, “Everybody Poops!”. And it is both comforting and reassuring that Doctor Rothwell and her associates & support staff do make a person feel as comfortable as possible while discussing such a private area. After all, I guess it’s safe for me to say that Doctor Rothwell has been places with me that no other human being has. And, granted, I’d feel awkward and self-conscious if I bumped into her out in public, but in her office setting she manages to allay all my worries and concerns.

I’ve been treated by Dr. Patel for abdominal pain and reflux that has sent me to the ER multiple times. He prescribed a medication that I’ve been taking for nearly two years, and it has helped keep my symptoms under control. However, I recently requested a routine refill and was shocked to learn it was denied because I “need an appointment,” something that was never communicated to me before. As a result, I’ve now gone several days without my medication, and my symptoms have returned—yet the earliest appointment available is weeks away. It’s extremely frustrating to be put in this situation with no warning. Continuity of care is so important, especially for patients with chronic symptoms. A simple heads-up or transition plan would have prevented this unnecessary setback. The lack of communication and long wait times make an already difficult condition even harder to manage.

During my original visit, Dr. Chand was distant and impersonal. He offered to answer any questions I had about the colonoscopy but given that I didn’t know anything about the process not even what to ask, we barely spoke. However, after the colonoscopy, he was more personal and went over the results and provided more detail than I expected given our first meeting. My suggestion is that Dr. Chand spend at least 5-10 minutes with the patient specifically those coming for the first time explaining what is the process for the procedure and what to expect. Even though those questions could be answered by a nurse or staff, patients want to hear directly from the doctor to feel at ease.

The front desk person was not friendly. When asked for hand sanitizer to clean tablet, made a rude remark about me being “germaphobe” to the person behind me. Unprofessional. The office strongly smells employees lunches! Not respectful for fasting patients (Nauseating) & Rude! Furniture extremely old, stained, dirty and VERY UNCOMFORTABLE for 15 min. MUCH less for the 3-hrs-wait-“drives” ! All chairs need to be replaced ASAP if this practice respects this community! Also Very old, magazines, plus dirty tables & desks. Will NOT recommend this practice. NO masks available: It’s FLU season!

Words cannot describe what a blessing Dr.Chand has been. I feel better than I have in months. From the very first visit he treated me like I was his first priority. I had told him of my on going symptoms and that I felt my previous GI group had not taken things seriously. Dr. Chand immediately ordered lab work ; which the previous group hadn’t done. He moved with such urgency and quickly had very important testing done to get to the cause of my illness. The staff were all extremely professional and friendly. The RN that started the IV was exceptionally gentle. Did not feel the needle going in and it left no bruising. Would love for her to give lessons! The anesthesiologist explained everything before doing each step. The only complaint was being told to be there at 8:50 and not being taken back until after 9:30. Overall a very good experience. I will recommend this facility and Dr. Fowler.

I had both procedures back to back upper and lower before going under everyone was very nice from check in, to the nurses in the back, to everyone in the procedure room. I highly recommend him and his staff for any of your needs they seem very passionate about your health and well being. Also I had my esophagus stretched from scar tissue and he’s doing it in steps and not all at once in which I’m greatful it doesn’t feel like a heard of elephants on my chest to breath. They go out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible, given the nature of colonoscopies. And, the staff is top notch and engaging. I have complex digestive issues and Dr. Fowler is the only Gastroenterologist that has started to uncover many potential issues. Met with Dr Portwood to discuss the colonoscopy and procedure. He was very thorough in discussing my previous procedures and need for every 5 years. The morning of the colonoscopy I arrived early and was taken back immediately. The procedure was completed quickly and I was in recovery just as had been described. I was scheduled for a 8:40 procedure. I arrived an hour early as requested but they were having a power issue and repairs were being made. They explained the situation and stated that "Dr. Chand wanted to get every one in since you went through the prep". We were given the option of rescheduling or waiting. We were given updates on the repair progress and they began taking patients back around 10:30 or 11:00. The staff was apologetic, efficient, and professional during this process. Even though it was a long day I was very satisfied with how it was handled.

My second procedure in 22 years . 12/02/2024 went in for consultation , check in was very professional . Each associate was very helpful . Met with Dr Stephenson , I asked several questions pertaining to the procedure . He's a Doctor who shows compassion the way he directed the answers he gave me . I was convinced to have the procedure take place . 12/31/2024 checked in at 07:40 am . Check in , the young Lady at the window very pleasant , had a smile on her face . When called to the back , the Ladies there showed compassion and a lot of care to my needs as a patient with smiling faces . James came in to introduce himself . When I was rolled back to the room for the procedure , they were two Ladies there , both of them had smiles on their faces said good morning . I remember Dr Stephenson coming in saying good morning and asking me how I was doing , told him I was having a good day . Then James came over to administer the medicine in my arm , the next thing I remember is waking up from where I started with a smiling face looking at me asking how I was doing . I told her it was a good day . I thank each one of you how pleasant and professional each of you were . It's a Blessing to have folks like y'all taking time to each of your patients as you do . Good news after the procedure all was well . Thank you Dr Stephenson God Bless each of you , My Prayer for each of you and your Families this year 2025 will be that God will fill your lives with Joy .
